The Association of Caribbean Tertiary Institutions (ACTI) is a leading membership organization
embracing many post-secondary institutions and related organizations in the English-speaking
Caribbean.
ACTI’s Vision is to be the ‘catalyst’ for networking tertiary institutions, focusing on the effectiveness, relevance and quality of tertiary education in the region.
Its Mission is to engage all stakeholders in tertiary education, regionally and internationally, for the continued enhancement and development of tertiary education, its services and member institutions; and to provide technical support for all regional tertiary institutions.
ACTI operates a small secretariat on the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies in
Barbados.
The constitution of ACTI are to facilitate cooperation and collaboration between the institutions in a wide range of academic, administrative and other areas, to facilitate more effective utilization of scarce resources in seeking to enhance access, mobility and quality in tertiary education, to facilitate the development/delivery of particular programmes and services, to assist in identifying and meeting the ongoing tertiary education needs of the region and individual territories and to provide a professional forum for discussion and problem solving.

ACTI advocates for quality tertiary education in the Caribbean region. It works with governments, institutions, and other stakeholders to promote policies and practices that ensure that students receive a high-quality education.
ACTI provides professional development opportunities for educators in the Caribbean. This includes workshops, conferences, and other training programs to help educators improve their teaching skills and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in their field.
ACTI conducts research on various aspects of tertiary education in the Caribbean and publishes reports and other publications on its findings. This helps to inform policy and practice in the region.
